Leah Francis
Director of Finance and Operations

Leah's  primary role is to assist in developing and maintaining the Associations budget, work with all financial aspects of the Association, handle WIAA human resource issues, distribute and maintain ticket inventories and controls for state and regional events, and work with Labor and Industries claims and codes for the Washington Officials Association.

Andy Knapp
Director of Marketing, Promotions and Corporate Sponsors

Andy’s primary roles are to work with WIAA corporate sponsors and develop and oversee the marketing of the WIAA to both internal and external groups.  Andy is in charge of promotions of school programs, the WIAA and its events.  Andy works closely with the Manager of Publications and Manager of Communications and Information to help execute outreach programs, develop state championship souvenir programs and ensure that the WIAA brand and logo are properly utilized and advertised.

Judi Badgley
Support Staff for the Executive Director
and Executive Board

Judi works with the executive director regarding all communication and scheduling. She prepares agendas, packets and support materials for WIAA Executive Board and other meetings. Judi also coordinates executive board travel, housing and catering arrangements.

Bryson Bickler
Receptionist/Support Staff

Bryson’s primary responsibilities include front desk administration and reception, assisting in scheduling and coordinating meetings and building usage. He assists in scheduling catering for WIAA meetings, committee meetings and in-house functions. Bryson also works with WIAA staff on preparations for state tournaments.

Shanon Burke
Manager of Publications

Shanon is responsible for creating and publishing all souvenir programs for the WIAA state championships. She designs all publication projects and contributes to the visual projects utilized by the association. In addition, Shanon coordinates the Fast Break newsletter and Interscholastic magazine.

Sarah Cooper
Manager of Communications and Information

Sarah is the primary contact for media members throughout the state.  She prepares and monitors media for WIAA events and serves as tournament/event media coordinator.  Sarah develops, maintains and executes all aspects of radio and television contracts.  Sarah monitors pass and banner distribution for WIAA events.  She prepares press releases, human interest stories and daily “in the news” reports and helps in the production of the WIAA Interscholastic Magazine and the WIAA State Tournament Programs.

Simon Hirsch
Technology Support Analyst/Enrollment Coordinator

Simon is responsible for providing consultation, support and training for the office staff on computers and other technology-based systems as well as website support for member schools. He also maintains school member data, including student participation numbers, head coaching rosters, activities declared by schools, and membership billing.  Simon oversees the printed and web versions of the School Member Directory and handles inquiries from WOA Officials regarding Labor and Industries claims.

Office Assistant


Barbara assists the Eligibility Officers in obtaining and maintaining information and records for eligibility cases that are appealed to the state office.

  Aaron Roetcisoender
Production Coordinator

Aaron maintains proper mailing addresses for all schools, committee members, and  related affiliate members, and coordinates the distribution of books and materials to all concerned.  He also oversees administration of the Scholastic Achievement Program.
