13th Annual WIAA Coaches School
Help yourself to become a better coach!
  
July 31-August 1, 2009 Yakima Convention Center  
The annual conference for Washington coaches is presented by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association.  Over 575 coaches attended the 2008 WIAA Coaches School.


Another Opportunity to learn beyond the X’s and O’s  

In an effort to continue to better serve coaches and administrators statewide, the 2009 Coaches School will again feature a weekend format. 

Check-in and registration will be from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Thursday, July 30th, and at 7:30 AM on Friday, July 31, 2009.  The closing session will conclude Saturday afternoon, August 1, 2009. 

There will be a pre-conference session on Hands-On Athletic Taping hosted by the Vocational Athletic Trainers Association available to all coaches school participants on Thursday evening July 30. Sports Medicine First Aid and CPR training will also be offered Thursday, July 30 at 12 PM. This course will cover first-aid for coaches and will include taping, on-field assessment, ideas and rehab ideas.
The WIAA Coaches School is an excellent opportunity for coaches, advisors and administrators for all activities and athletics to interact, to learn, and to share experiences that contribute to the professionalism of interscholastic coaching.

REGISTER NOW FOR THE
2009 WIAA COACHES SCHOOL
July 31-August 1, 2009
The registration fee of $100 ($120 after July 20, 2009) includes a BBQ lunch-Friday, Saturday Luncheon, a light Continental Breakfast both days, Handouts and WIAA Clock Hours and Coaches School Tee-shirt.

The pre-conference Sports Medicine First Aid and CPR training has a separate Pre-Registration fee of $35 if paid by July 20, 2009, and a $45 late registration fee after July 20, 2009

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

Submit the online registration or printed registration form along with $100 per registrant by July 20. After July 20, a $20 late fee per registrant will be required. After July 20, only faxed, e-mail or on-site registrations will be accepted.

WIAA cannot guarantee that all on-site registrants will receive a packet of handouts or a tee-shirt. 

Schools and school districts will receive one (1) additional registration at no charge for every ten (10) paid registrations.

ONLY ONLINE, FAXED, E-MAILED OR ON-SITE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER JULY 20, 2009.

Since summer is the prime tourist season, the Red Lion Yakima Center Hotel has quoted the WIAA Coaches School an advantageous room rate in support of interscholastic activities. 

Coaches School participants are being offered the special room rate of $90 plus tax per night, if booked by July 8, 2009.  The hotel is on the same property as the Yakima Convention Center.
